Environmental Policy

The Feathers Royal Hotel is located in Aberaeron, a picturesque Georgian harbour town on the west coast of Wales. The 200 year old hotel , a listed building, has 13 bedrooms, restaurant, lounge and public bar and a function room catering for 200 persons.

Our main raw materials consist of water, food, general household cleaning agents, liquid propane gas and fuel oil for heating, liquid propane gas for hot water and cooking, bottled beverages and office stationery.

Our main environmental impacts relate to the use of liquid propane gas, fuel oil, electricity, waste disposal, and transport of materials and visitors. Through our commitment to continual environmental improvement, the Feathers Royal Hotel shall seek to minimise its production of waste and reduce its energy consumption through operational efficiency. This achieved by:

• Minimising waste production through prudent use of raw materials.
• Recycle all that is recyclable.
• Purchase locally produced organic food thus reducing 'food miles'.
• Minimise water consumption and discharge.
• Reduce energy consumption through prudent use of fuel and by installing energy efficient lighting and controls.
• Recognise our obligation to comply with all relevant environmental legislation.
• This policy will be subject to annual review and will be communicated regularly to all staff and made available to all interested parties.
